Jeff became District Manager of MRPD in 2015. Prior to that he worked for 15 years as Education and Volunteer Services Corrdinator, Assistant Director and Director of Museum Services at the Kern County Museum. In 2012, he became Executive Director at the Kern Literacy Council. In that capacity, he created a tutoring program in concert with the County of Kern helping at-risk teens. That program brought him back to McFarland helping pregnant teens finish high school (he previosuly taught at McFarland Middle School for three years in the 1990s). Jeff has taught at Bakersfield College as an adjunct professor of Sociology since 1993.
Jeff is currently President-Elect of the California Recreation and Park Society's District 15. The district covers Delano to Palmdale to the Coast Range to the west and the California - Nevada border to the east. He worked with another entity, the California Special District Association, to get $100,000,000 allocated to special districts throughout the state in COVID relief funding. Before that, no funds were going to go to special districts.
